From the Rider's Seat
By Roy Hooper

We've had some very good turnouts for our rides this year on some pretty nice roads.  I spend time making and planning rides for us and I want to thank you for coming to the rides as it is YOU that makes our Club successful.  As President I may run this Club but it is our members that make this Club run.  I always have an open mind about our Club so keep your suggestions and comments coming.

I want to thank Jeff Rotter again for taking still shots and videos of our rides.  When videotaping Jeff tries to ride behind different riders so each of us can see how we ride. It is pretty fun to share videos of you and your MC with your friends.  The videos are located in our Photo Gallery.

Our Channel Islands Parade was another fun event with a great turnout.  The weather was sunny this time and like always it's very colorful.  I want to thank Bill Quan and Dave Smith for donating cold water bottles for us.  I also want to thank Jeff Roe for bringing his kids and their friends who helped with taking photos and holding our banner.  And thanks to all our members who showed up today to celebrate July 4th.  We also had a surprise visit from our busy members Darcy and Debby Wersh.  Visit our Photo Gallery for all the photos.

Shop Talk??
One great thing about riding is that it
enables us to get away from work
and other daily grinds.   The last thing
that some riders want to talk about is
WORK so thanks for respecting
their peace and quiet so that they
can enjoy their day off and ride.

"Each Time I Ride"
Jeff Roe, who I met about 4 years ago, gave me a real nice frame entitled "Each Time I Ride" at the July 4th parade.  The top half has an action photo of me riding my FJR and the bottom half has some great text describing how I enjoy riding bikes now and how I dreamed about it whenever I would see one when I was a little kid.
THANK YOU JEFF.

Lake Isabella- June
By Roy Hooper

Today was going to be a day with many miles and when we departed Jack in the Box 9 am we had 10 riders ready to go.  At our Fillmore pick up there were 4 more bikes waiting for us and at the Castaic stop there were 2 more.  We had a variety of MCs and people who had never ridden with us.

Once over the Grapevine we took Bodfish Rd. to Lookout Point to view Lake Isabella which has been full for the last year and a half.  After taking in the scenic view we rode around the lake and had a well-deserved lunch at different eateries in Kernville.

After lunch we leaned left and right on highway 155
that led us to north Bakersfield where we headed
south on 99.

We exited in Frazier Park for our last fuel stop and there some took I-5 home and others chose 33.
We had a great day, saw lots of bikes, saw some neat accessories and most important, met new people.
Ride safe.
