We have 3 rides left in 2007 and we need your input and ideas for 2008 rides. If there is any place you have in mind that you think would be a good Club ride please let me know.  Earlier this year one of our Members suggested the 2007 LA Skid Row Toy Ride and it is set for a club Ride on Dec. 9.
Our other 2 rides in 2007 are the Harley's Rock Inn on Nov. 11 without the Love Ride fanfare since they will be heading to Pomona for the first time and the Dec. 8 Ventura Toy Ride on Saturday.  On both Toy rides we will leave Ventura Carl's Jr. at 8 am, not 9am,  and for the Ventura Toy ride we will have a pick up at the Camarillo McDonalds on Santa Rosa Rd. and the 101 at 8:15.  For the Skid Row ride we will have a pick up at the Camarillo Mobil on Pleasant Valley and the 101 at 8:15.  For these Toy rides all you need to bring are 2 non-violent toys- one for a girl and one for a boy.  They don't have to be expensive, just something that will bring a smile to their faces.

September Ride
Route 66 Overnighter
By Roy Hooper
We had  an overnight trip to San Bernardino for the 18th annual Route 66 Rally.  Riders were Jeff and Germaine Rotter, Carla and I.  We took the 210 freeway with a stop at Porto's Cuban Bakery in Glendale for a delicious breakfast.  As we reached the 210/215 interchange in Rialto we took surface streets to the Wig Wam Motel where we would be staying.  After checking in and having fun exploring our Wig Wams we jumped back on our bikes and rode just 4 miles to the Rally which consisted of MANY blocks closed off to traffic except for pre 1972 cars cruising and the many vendors.  Even with the many food booths present we found a nice Mexican eatery that had very good food and tacos that Carla just loved.  After strolling for about 5 hours we went back to the motel and slept in our cozy Wig Wams.
Check out all of Jeff's and Germain's photos here.

October Ride
The ride for October was originally planned to ride to Pearlblossom and the Devil's Punch Bowl but that was the weekend of the infamous 14/5 truck lane accident.  With thousands of cars looking for alternate routes I decided that we would ask the riders Sunday morning if they wanted to risk the traffic and head up to the Punch Bowls or choose a different ride all together.  After a discussion we decided to ride in the Malibu hills and stay far away from the 5 and 14.
So we rode up freshly paved Decker Canyon and then took Mulholland Hwy to the Rock Store to check out the latest machines.  After the stop we took Stunt and Hume Rds. to PCH, headed north and stopped at the shopping plaza on Burgess Meredith Way off PCH.  We had some good grub and then walked around to window shop.
After lunch some of us switched bikes and we all followed Carla up PCH again and turned right on Decker Canyon.  She led us to a coffee place in Westlake for our last stop.
From there we said our good byes and headed off in different directions.
