Our CLUB rides are on the SECOND SUNDAY of the month unless stated otherwise and we meet at 8 and leave at 9 am sharp with the pre-ride talk at 8:50- EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE PRESENT.  I will email the riders on our email list on the Wednesday before our ride with the latest ride info.  ALL BRANDS ARE WELCOMED and you do not have to be a member to ride with us.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP
(From a "moss" incident on our club ride in June 2011)
When you approach a stream crossing the road-
hand signal to the traffic
behind you that you are slowing down a lot and stay on the
left side of the road and ride in the cars' left tire track where
moss has not built up as much.  You cannot see the slippery moss and you could lose control and ruin your motorcycle.

June 3 - Pismo to Pozo Spring Run.  (THIS IS NOT A CLUB RIDE but was sent in by Sara from the Special Olympics).
My name is Sara and I am an intern at Special Olympics, San Luis Obispo County. 
We are planning our annual P-2-P Spring ride from Pismo to Pozo on Sunday, June 3. 
I was wondering if I could mail you information to pass out or you could post the event on your site?
We are trying to increase the number of riders from last year, because of course, this ride helps the athletes of Special Olympics reach their goal. 

Here are the details:
Who: All types of motorcycle riders wanted!
What: Pismo to Pozo Spring Run, $35
When: Sunday, June 3, 2012, check in time 9:30am, leave at 10:30
Where: Check in at Huckleberry's (300 Five Cities Drive, Pismo Beach)
Why: To help athletes go for the gold in the Olympic games!
Includes: Pancake and sausage breakfast at start site, Santa Maria style BBQ at Pozo, live music, and a ride shirt.
Register by May 21 to guarantee your shirt.

June 10 -   Los Alamos.  
Starting point- Ventura Carl's Jr. 1745 South Victoria Avenue.  Show up at 8 and depart at 9.  We will stop at the Chevron on La Cumbre in Santa Barbara for a pick up at 9:40.
We will ride the section that was used for the Amgen race.  We will have lunch in Los Alamos which has been revitalized in the past 3 years.  200 miles.

July 8-  The Place on Hwy 33 in Lockwood Valley, suggested by Jeff Rotter and John Adams.

Pit stop at the Chevron on La Cumbre in Santa Barbara, 154, Foxen, Tepusquet, 166 (pit stop in Cuyama), 33 to The Place.
August 12-  Luigi Ortega's in Oxnard.

TIM BATES MEMORIAL RIDE.  (Tim passed away August 22, 2008 of a heart attack so all our August rides will be in his memory.)  
This unique restaurant has a standard menu and an exotic menu for those that want to try something different like Gator, Turtle, Kangaroo and Ostrich!  If this is your first time I would suggest the 4 Sampler sticks for $10.99.
Sept. 9-  OPEN  Maybe we can redo our Kernville ride, we'll see how hot the summer gets.
Oct. 14-  Reyes Creek, formerly Camp Scheideck in Lockwood Valley.

May -   Ride 4 Kids  Brain Tumor Fund raiser at Honda's HQs in Torrance.  
This is not our monthly club ride but it is the only fundraiser ride we do. Feel free to come along.

Starting point- Shell station  on Las Posas Road at the 101.  DEPARTING AT 7 AM.

*The Dana on Mission Bay, San Diego.
*Death Valley/Keough's Hot Springs.  The Springs is a resort in the middle of nowhere just outside Bishop.
