 CCR NEWS FROM THE PRESIDENT

If you no longer want to receive our monthly emails please let me know.
What do you think of my monthly emails?  I want to know from you what you like and don't like so please take
one minute to let me know and I will try to make it more interesting.  Thank you.

LAST CHANCE TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP
Membership renewal comes up every October, renewal is still only $12 and you can pay me
on the next ride or pay online, whatever is easier for you.  You can go to our
Join/Renewal page and see the info there.  To see if you need to renew this year just go to our
Meet our Members and under your main photo is your renewal year.

We have a 3 day ride planned for February 2014 and if you are thinking of going PLEASE BOOK YOUR ROOM NOW because they will sell out of rooms.  Go to our Ride Calendar page for the motel info.

It's been a few months now since 11 of us went on a week long trip laid out by Carla to Nevada, Utah and Arizona.  We have great memories of the ride and you can always visit our Photo Gallery page to see the nice photos taken by Ron Dumont, Frank and Juergen.

October raffle winners Robert and John each won $25 gift cards to Cal Coast Motorsports.  All proceeds go to our club fund so we can have some nice BBQs/Appetizers on sunny days with no charge to our Members.

And don't forget that owner Craig Adams said that "we will match any online prices on equal terms
on current merchandise.  Simply print out the offer or bring it in on your phone.
We ask that everyone keep their business local and support the Cal Coast as we support them."
I have mentioned many times before how important it is to support Cal Coast Motorsports because
you will keep your money local, keep local employees employed and have Cal Coast Motorsports
here when you need them.  So this personal message from Craig should answer any questions you
have about price matching.

Next time you are in Cal Coast you might want to check out their CLEARANCE section which is at the end of the chemical aisle.
There is a clothing rack and also some helmets against the wall.  They have some good deals there.

 OCTOBER RIDE
We had 20 bikes with 26 people go on our Kernville ride, this was the longest ride the club has had since we started it in March and finally finished it 7 months later. We rode in 2 groups in the twisties but rode as one group on the beautiful and lonely back roads.  We had lunch in Kernville where we ate at different restaurants and from all reports, everyone had a good lunch.
This photo by Mel on Andy's Buell taken on Hwy 155 in Kern County captures our ride perfectly!

 AN AFFORDABLE GPS
During our 49 ride we found out that Richard Gomes had a non-Zumo Garmin GPS that he downloaded our 3 day routes to and it was less than $200.  So if you are looking for an alternative to the $600 + Zumos you might want to get the Garmin nuvi 755T (765T has Bluetooth).  You can make your own routes using Mapsource and download it to the nuvi.  You can also download our routes to it so you can see where we are going as your ride with us.  It is has the speed limit signs for most roads so you will know what the speed limit is and why I am doing the speed that I am doing. You can use this in any car as well. Click here for the nuvi 755T and here is the cradle to mount on your bike.  If you run across a better price on the nuvi please let me know so I can pass it on.  These items will not be around forever so don't hesitate.
Check out our Zumo page that has some routes made by Cal Coast Riders.

 MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
Looking for the best price on MC gear?  Get it at Cal Coast Motorsports!
Owner Craig Adams wants you to know "
our everyday pricing on Shoei helmets is
better than most online sites.  Also, we will match any online prices on equal terms
on current merchandise.

Did you know that some of our members have their own web site?
Just go to our main page, navigate to the left column and look under "Members' Sites".

 TOWING OPTIONS
Hopefully you will never need to call a tow truck for your bike but if you do we have some
options to add to your cell phone. The following info can always be found on our Towing page.
Paul's Cycle Rescue  in Ventura County.  Paul has a trailer made for MCs and he knows what he's doing.

A member suggested that if you break down far from home it might be cheaper to rent a u-haul truck
with a trailer and tow your bike to wherever you need to go instead of paying a towing company their
per mile rate.  I think this is a great suggestion and I hope I remember this if I am ever in that situation.
